Pay Per Click Bid
Website completed? PPC helps you prepare for high search engine rankings
It also generates traffic, allows you to test your site and promotes sales while your doing it - fast!
Unfortunately, not all websites can get the number 1 ranking for every keyword we dream up. But for those of us who have a great site and want to fast track it to the front page of Google or Yahoo, then PPC is the way to go. Where organic search engine rankings are gained over time, pay per click bid is the fast track to getting traffic to your site. It is also how the search engines make their money.
PPC works quite simply. Once you place a PPC ad with the search engine of your choice, mainly Google, Yahoo or MSN, the customer clicks on your ad and the search engines will charge you from a few cents to a couple of dollars per click.
Now the advantage to you is you can set the price on each click and you can declare a budget so that you won’t ever pay too much to have your site up on the PPC sponsor bar.
Google AdWords™ Example:
- PPC advertising is to the right of the screen using Google AdWords™ (Google’s system for PPC advertising)
- Organic search results are to the left below Google’s Logo.
You pay each time someone clicks on your ad. You can have it for 10 cents or $13 each time a customer clicks, its up to you. The more you pay per click the higher you will be ranked up the side, for that particular keyword you have paid for. This is a great way of directing traffic to your site quickly, without optimizing all your pages first.
It’s also a great way to TEST your site. Once you have developed your site to the best of your ability, you can run a PPC campaign to see how much traffic you can generate and how many sales are made.
This is called your conversion rate.
It works simply. For every one hundred customers that visit your website, five of them may purchase from you, then your conversion rate is 5% – a great conversion rate by anyone’s standards.
While using PPC it’s important that you initially take a ‘TEST’ approach to your website to see if your visitors are responding well to the work you have just completed. You want to make sure that customers are purchasing from you and you want to make as many changes necessary for you customers to purchase from you in droves. This may take time chopping and changing your site, but it can be well worth it when your site is converting at 10%!!!
