If you don’t enjoy you in your business, why would anyone else?  Doing something you love really shows in business and your customers will reward you for it.

Remember, if you’re passionate it will show in your business, if you are not passionate, the same rule applies.  You don’t need to be passionate 24/7 about your product if it’s something such as latex gloves, but being passionate about the lifestyle the business gives you is essential.  Passion is the fire that keeps momentum in your business, when you’re having a bad day … and we all have them.

Passion is a one of the key ingredients in your business success, its not the only one, but extremely important none the less.  You cannot be passionate all the time.  To simply test your passion for a product or service, is to reflect or listen to yourself when you describe your business to the people around you.  Listen to yourself, do you sound passionate or flat when you talk about it?

To find it or to know if you have it, ask yourself the following questions and apply them to each business/product/service you consider getting involved in.

What do I really enjoy doing?

• How can I make what I truly enjoy my life’s passion?

I have been involved in several start-up companies over the years.  It was always extremely important that the directors had passion, not necessarily for the product, but for the people in the business, the customers and lifestyle that was achievable through selling that particular product or service.  If it wasn’t there the businesses would commonly fail within 12-18 months after its formation.

Why?  Because without true passion they simply would give up if times got a little tough.  For those with passion they are happiest working on their business, when they’re confronted with work difficulties, this is where they truly shine.  They simply love what they do and know they are living their dreams. It shows in their face and thus in their results.  Passion offers an edge in times of adversity.

Simple Suggestions to Find Your Passion

I encourage you to generate a list of the top ten things you enjoy doing most with your time and think about them over the next week or two.  If you think of something else during that time add it to the list.  Aim to remove one item from that list each day until you have only one item remaining on that list.

Write a quick list of what you would like to sell if you had to sell it right now!  Keep it general such as toys or books.  Look through the Online Opportunities section and pick a market.
